Enjoying the archipelago in and around Stockholm doesn’t mean you actually have to leave the city. On the contrary, there’s plenty of things to visit and enjoy by boat that are also just as accessible through a quick stroll.
So, the other day they opened Gröna Lund. This is a large amusement park situated on the island of Djurgården in central Stockholm. I decided to pay a visit, and therefore hopped on the boat over at Slussen. The boat trip is a nice way of seeing town, and only takes about 10 minutes across the city inlet. Gröna Lund was full of activity and bustling with people who were enjoying the many rides and roller coasters. I think I’ve tried them all, either way I was quite happy with just the one ride for the day. I got on the new attraction, named the Broomstick. Apparently this has to do with the fact that it hangs from an overhead suspension and the experience is similar to riding a broomstick. I’m pleased to reveal I have now tried both. After that I walked away from Djurgården, and headed on over to the maritime museum just north of the island. This is my favourite museum, and I stayed for several hours before going home.
Enjoy the sun,
Puffy
