I recently stumbled upon this great new club in town that I just couldn’t resist the urge to write about. The club is called Russian Spring Break (of course it is!) - but for all of you looking for newly educated Russians, look elsewhere.
Resident DJ’s Jeansbjörn and Yxa (that’s DJ Jeans Bear and DJ Axe) are the masterminds behind this club that now resides at the fabulous outdoor nightclub on Kungsholmen that is called Trädgården (The Garden). Apparently the club is named after DJ Yxa’s favourite drink and the music they play comes from a whole load of places that ring rather more tropical bells than those of Russia. Think Houston, Baltimore, Jamaica, Paris, Brazil, London and Atlanta, and you’ll have arrived at the dance-orientated hiphop & club-remixes that blend together with the people who come here. I came here as an unintroduced beginner, but by the time I left I had proved to everyone that it takes a whole lot more than the disguise of a disco ball outfit to shake the stuff the way I do. I felt like such a success, I’ll be going back next time to prove it wasn’t a one-off occasion.
